Our Approach to Care

At Cui and Lin Orthodontics, we focus on doing things the right way from the start. That means taking the time to understand your needs, using advanced imaging to guide decisions, and building a treatment plan that is both precise and thoughtfully executed. Our team provides care in both English and Mandarin, ensuring every patient and family feels informed, comfortable, and confident throughout treatment.

We believe orthodontics is more than straight teeth. It is about function, long-term stability, and confidence. Every detail matters, and every patient is treated with the same level of attention and care we would offer our own family.

Dr. Michelle Cui

Dr. Michelle Cui (pronounced “swee”) takes a thoughtful and empathetic approach to treatment, treating each patient with the same care and consideration she would offer her own family. She is passionate about creating individualized treatment plans that prioritize long-term oral health while delivering naturally beautiful results. Her advanced training allows her to approach each case with a comprehensive understanding of both function and facial aesthetics. Dr. Cui remains committed to staying at the forefront of orthodontics through continuing education, research, and the integration of modern techniques and technology.
Dr. Cui’s path to orthodontics has been driven by both academic excellence and a deep appreciation for precision and aesthetics. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from New York University, followed by her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated summa cum laude with Honors in Nutritional Science. During her time at Penn, she was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Honor Society, recognizing her scholarship, character, and commitment to ethical excellence in dentistry. She continued her training with a three-year residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she also earned her Master of Science in Oral Biology.
Guided by a lifelong love of art, a passion for serving others, and the values of family and meaningful connection, Dr. Cui found in orthodontics the perfect blend of creativity, science, and compassionate care. Outside of the office, she enjoys an active lifestyle and can often be found running, playing tennis, or practicing yoga. She also loves creative pursuits such as pottery, painting, and design, and cherishes time spent with her husband, Dr. Chris Lin, and their two dogs, Kali and Uni. A passionate animal lover, Dr. Cui is especially grateful for the joy their rescue dog, Kali, has brought to their family. Opening a practice alongside Dr. Lin has been a long-held dream, allowing her to combine her passion for patient care, aesthetics, and innovation into a space that reflects their shared vision for orthodontics and care for their community.

Dr. Christopher Lin

Dr. Christopher Lin is passionate about leveraging advanced technology and precision-driven treatment to deliver exceptional outcomes while maintaining a strong emphasis on ethical, personalized care. With his strong background in multidisciplinary care, he is able to work seamlessly alongside other specialists to create functional, healthy, and beautiful smiles. At Cui and Lin Orthodontics, he is dedicated not only to creating beautiful, healthy smiles, but also to helping the next generation build confidence and feel empowered. His commitment to patient-centered care is rooted in a belief that every patient deserves thoughtful, individualized treatment.
Dr. Lin’s journey into dentistry and orthodontics has been shaped by a deep commitment to community, mentorship, and patient-centered care. A proud graduate of Punahou School, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Creighton University before pursuing his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at New York University College of Dentistry. He continued his advanced training with a General Practice Residency at Weill Cornell–New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens, where he developed a strong foundation in comprehensive, multidisciplinary care. Following his residency, Dr. Lin spent seven years in private practice, including five years in general dentistry and two years focused on orthodontics, before completing his orthodontic specialty training at the Georgia School of Orthodontics.
Growing up in Hawaii, Dr. Lin was surrounded by a strong sense of community and guided by mentors who helped shape both his personal and professional path. He believes that it truly takes a village to raise a person, and this perspective continues to drive his commitment to giving back. The kindness, altruism, and Aloha spirit he experienced remain central to how he cares for his patients today. Outside of the office, Dr. Lin enjoys staying active, traveling, and exploring new cuisines, and can often be found spending time with his wife, Dr. Cui, and their two dogs, Kali and Uni. Opening Cui and Lin Orthodontics alongside Dr. Cui has been a longtime dream, allowing them to build a practice that reflects their shared vision and dedication to their community.
